Established in 2015, our Indianapolis-based shop has quickly become a cornerstone of trusted vehicle care in the region. Our state-of-the-art facility features three bays and two lifts, equipped to handle everything from routine maintenance to complex repairs for cars, trucks, and RVs. With over 100 years of combined experience, our skilled technicians bring unparalleled expertise to every vehicle that rolls into our shop. At Thompson’s, we are passionate about the craft of auto repair and maintenance, ensuring each service is performed with meticulous care and attention to detail.
Owner Spotlight
James Thompson, the proud owner of Thompson’s Auto & Diesel Repair, began his journey with wrenches at age 15 and later served in the military from 1992 to 1996, specializing in heavy equipment. After military service, he pursued an education at Lincoln Tech and began his career at Paclease Truck Service in Indianapolis, followed by Precision Tune until 1997, where he achieved ASE certification. His diverse experience includes major roles at Harlan Bakery and National Starch and Chemical. In 2003, he ventured into entrepreneurship with his first shop, returned to the military in 2006, and served until 2011. He then successfully operated a mobile repair business in Alaska. After relocating in 2011, he worked within various repair shops until opening his own Greenwood, Indiana location from 2015 to 2020. By 2022, Thompson’s Auto & Diesel Repair had opened its doors, granting him over 35 years of hands-on experience. James and his wife are family oriented. They are the proud parents to nine children and ten grandchildren.
